Objectives

" The relief of poor, sick, elderly or disabled persons in Locks Heath and district by the provision or assistance of services calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons." in Locks Heath, Park Gate, Sarisbury, Swanwick, Titchfield Common and Warsash

Lunch Clubs

Communicare organises and runs Lunch Clubs for the elderly in the Western Wards who require social interaction and a home cooked meal. Monday at Sarisbury Green Community Centre and Tuesday at Victory Hall Warsash.

Minibus

CommuniCare organises and runs a minibus to collect people to go shopping at the Lockswood Centre each Thursday and alternate Fridays to Whiteley.  There are two routes run on alternate Thursdays but you do need to pre-book. The minibus is used six days a week to provide local transport for the Lunch Clubs and for shopping trips, and for the  Titchfield Day  Centre, and Titchfield over 60's club.

Coffee Shop

The coffee shop is open every morning (except Sundays and Wednesdays) in Lockswood Centre Foyer opposite the library, it is run entirely by volunteers.  The proceeds from the shop are donated to CommuniCare to help work in the community. Information on CommuniCare's activities is always available at the Coffee Shop.

Car Transport

CommuniCare can arrange car transport for the frail or infirm of any age (but not in wheelchairs or medically unfit) to surgeries, clinics, hospitals etc. Drivers will pick up patients from their home, take them to their appointment, wait, and then take them home again. We do ask for a donation to CommuniCare for providing this service (£10 for local runs £15 to hospitals).
